This project consisted of a complete renovation to the Gavin Engineering Research Lab in Auburn, Al. Pair Foundation Solutions teamed up with Wright Engineering and Bear Brothers Construction to install 49 Chance new construction piles to support a cast in place slab on a series of grade beams. The required working load was specified at 40 kips/80 kips ultimate with an unbraced length of 10′-0″. All Chance piles were installed using a SS175/RS3500 combo with an 8″-10″-12″ helix configuration and installed to a target torque of 10,00 ft-lbs. To confirm adequate pile design, one load test was required and performed with the assistance of Foundation Technologies.
