CHANCE® Helical Tiebacks

CHANCE® helical tiebacks are a pre-engineered mechanical anchoring system for permanent and temporary earth retention. The success of the helical anchor tieback system dates back to decades of similar use of CHANCE® anchors in the electric utilities industry. Load capacities up to 200,000 lbs. per anchor can be achieved with this quick and cost-effective tieback system.

Installation

Helical tieback anchors are installed with hydraulic drilling equipment using a mini excavator, skid steer, backhoe, etc. depending on site conditions and access. Once the minimum length is attained the capacity is defined by reading the installation torque and correlating it to the holding capacity ratio of the soil strength. The tiebacks are able to be tensioned and tested immediately which saves a tremendous amount of time and cost.

Benefits

  • Maximizes flexibility with changing soil conditions
  • Immediate proof testing and tension loading
  • No excavation or spoils to remove
  • Minimizes labor costs
  • No concrete trucks or grout pumps needed
  • Anchors can be extracted for use on future projects
  • Predictable Capacity proportional to installation torque
  • Easy to store
  • Installs in any weather condition
  • Installs in limited access areas
